In Conversation with Zoe Mallett, co-founder of City Daze

Zoe Mallett and James Hazlett-Beard in conversation

You can be surrounded by people in this city and still feel completely alone. That is where this conversation starts, and it is a sentence most Londoners recognise the moment they hear it.

For episode two of Growing. Pains Included. I sat down with Zoe Mallett, co-founder of City Daze, the conscious walking club bringing Londoners together through movement, breathwork and real conversation. Zoe has an MSc in Psychology and spent years as a culture consultant, helping founders and teams work better together. Then she built what she could not find: somewhere to slow down, in a city that never does.

We talk about starting something from a personal need, the growing pains of building a community, and what it really takes to help strangers connect.

That last part is the one I keep coming back to. Bringing people together is easy to admire from the outside and much harder to hold up close, and Zoe is honest about both. This series has no unsolicited advice in it. It is shared experiences, and the honest impact they have had on our lives.

Growing. Pains Included. Episode two, with Zoe Mallett. Press play to watch.

Watch the full conversation above. If something in it speaks to you, the best next step is a simple one: come and have a conversation of your own.
