My Journey: From Founder to MAP Coach

People often ask how I got here. To be honest, it can seem like quite the cliché to go from high-paced industries such as fashion and production into personal development or mental health.

However, the transition is often more natural than it seems, mainly because of the traumas people within those high-performance roles experience. People frequently play out their own traumas and limiting beliefs through their careers, hoping to resolve their past through external success. In some respects, I, too, was one of those people at points in my career.

When I look back at why I chose to become a MAP coach, it wasn’t just a response to my experience and what I was noticing around me; it has always been my calling. A consistent red thread woven through my life. My mission in both my life and career has always been ‘to create space to empower.’ Which continues to be my passion in my role as a Founder and now MAP Coach.

Growing up

I was born in Southampton but spent my childhood growing up on the Isle of Wight. It was a beautiful place that really allowed my imagination to run wild. My family spent most of our days on the beach, trudging through the mud, surrounded by nature.

But for a kid who felt "different," it was also isolating. I experienced bullying both in and outside of school; to be honest, it was pretty constant. It left a mark far deeper than I realised at the time. I carried that weight for years, unaware of how it was shaping my view of the world and myself.

Rediscovery of self

I didn’t end up going to University, not through choice, but because I was directed towards a more practical route. I was told that diving straight into the work would benefit me more, and I could always come back to study for an MA later if I wished.

So, my 20s became a period of self-rediscovery. I moved to London, having worked and saved hard to buy my first camera. I spent years networking online and working in retail, shooting test models on the side and eating countless packets of noodles to get by. Eventually, I broke through, going on to work with incredible talent like Emma Thompson and Ella Purnell

From the outside, I was making progress. But the pressure was intense, and the internal baggage I was carrying was getting heavier.

It was during this time that I met my friend and mentor, Fabian Hirose, a management consultant working with fashion giants including LVMH. Fabian has a gift for seeing people, really seeing them. He looked past the photographer and saw the pain I was still carrying.

He was the catalyst that started me on my journey of personal development. I began exploring various modalities, including BWRT, Constellations, EFT, EMDR, and Hypnotherapy. This newfound passion for personal development was incredibly empowering; I realised I didn’t need to carry my past around anymore.

I began supporting Fabian with workshops like "Fashion Burnout," helping other professionals navigate the crushing demands of the creative industry. I saw that I wasn't alone; so many of us were running on empty, trying to create beauty while feeling broken inside.

Burnout & Liberation

I later moved into production, where my strength lay in bringing unconventional teams together and empowering creative ideas. I loved the energy of it, but by my 30s, I hit a wall.

I burnt out.

It was a wake-up call. I realised that I couldn't keep doing the same things and expect different results. I quit drinking, quit smoking, and fixed my health. But I understood a fundamental truth: If I wanted to change my external world, I had to change my internal world first.

That is when I discovered the MAP Method.

It blew my mind, and I felt liberated. MAP helped me resolve the past trauma of bullying and clear the limiting beliefs that had been a part of me all those years. I finally felt free.

Finding My "Why"

With a clear head and a healed nervous system, I started my own agency focused on future tech. We worked with massive names: Romeo Beckham, POP Magazine, Lisa Rinna, Julia Fox, Prada, and Maison Margiela.

Life was good. But it seemed life had another lesson for me.

I lost my brother.

Grief has a way of stripping away everything that doesn't matter. It forced me to stop and ask myself: What actually resonates with my soul? What am I doing here?

I realised my true passion wasn't tied to one specific role or career; it was empowerment. It was the spark I felt when I helped others create their vision, their dreams, and their purpose.

I decided to train as a MAP Coach because I wanted to offer others the same freedom I found. I wanted to help people create deep, lasting change, not just in their careers, but in their beings.

Your Journey Starts Here

Today, I use my experience as a Founder in high-pressure creative industries and my training in neuroscience-based transformation to help others find their power to achieve their vision.

Reflecting on your own story is a great first step in understanding your purpose. And when you are ready to clear the blocks standing in the way of that purpose?

If you haven’t read it already, I highly recommend picking up ‘Find Your Why’ by David Mead, Peter Docker, and Simon Sinek. It is an incredible tool to bring clarity to what motivates you.

I’m here to help.
