A session, step by step

No endless storytelling. Just one focus.

Here is exactly what it looks like, whether you press play on a recorded session in your own time or work one to one with James.

  • Awake the whole timeNo trance. You can stop whenever you like.
  • You never say it out loudOnly the number, and in a recorded session only to yourself.
  • A number before and afterYou rate it 0 to 10, so you see what moved.

The session, from the inside

What a session actually looks like.

The same shape every time, recorded or one to one. James guides. Your mind does the finding.

  1. Join from a private space

Anywhere quiet, where you can switch off. Headphones help.

  2. Bring one subject

One moment in your life holding tension: a conversation that still holds weight, a meeting you are dreading, one memory that catches. Start small and contained.

  3. Give it a number

Emotions and beliefs can feel abstract, so we give it a number. 0 for no charge, 10 for a high charge. Take the first number that comes.

  4. Settle in, and let James guide you

Eyes closed if you like, and breathe. You are awake the whole time and you can hear everything. You never say what it is about.

  5. Your mind does the finding

Your mind finds everything tied to the tension around your subject and clears it at the source, at a pace that is right for you. You do not analyse it or tell the story. You notice what comes up, and let it pass.

  6. Rate it again

The number again at the end, so you see what moved. If some charge is left, that is the next session, not a failure.

The days after

What you might notice afterwards.

The shift settles over the days that follow. Some people feel lighter straight away. For others the session is calm to the point of feeling anticlimactic, and the clearest sign arrives later, at the next trigger. Judge it there, not at the end of the session.

A memory or a feeling can surface in the hours after. That is the work settling. Notice it, and let it pass.

Aftercare
  • Drink some water, and moveA walk, a stretch, anything that brings you back into your body.
  • Ground yourselfFeet on the floor and a few slow breaths before you pick the day back up.
  • Write the number downWhat you brought, the number before and after, and what shifted.
  • Expect layersA smaller shift than you hoped for is normal. A quiet result is not a failed one.

If something feels raw or overwhelming, stop, and speak to your GP, or call Samaritans on 116 123.

1:1 with James

A space dedicated to you.

You are on a private call with James. You share only what you choose, and you never have to tell the story.

What to bring

Start small, and contained.

Choose one specific moment rather than a big or recurring theme. Small and contained lets you get comfortable and build your confidence, and as your confidence builds, so do the shifts.

  • A private, quiet spaceSomewhere you can switch off, with water in reach.
  • HeadphonesThey help you focus on the voice and nothing else.
  • One subject at 7 or belowFor a recorded session. Anything above a seven belongs one to one, never on your own.
  • Your full attentionNever while driving, or doing anything that needs your full attention.

Before you ask

Before your first session.

Is this therapy?

No. This is neurocoaching, not therapy, treatment or crisis support. Therapy helps you understand what happened and why, and this work sits alongside it, not in place of it.

Is this hypnotherapy?

No. There is no trance and no suggestion. You stay calm, aware and in control the whole way through. The closest description is a guided conversation on the surface while your mind does the quiet work underneath.

Do I have to talk about what happened?

No. You share only what you choose, and you never have to tell the story. In a recorded session, nobody sees or hears you, and you never say what it is about.

What do I bring to my first session?

One thing. A situation that keeps repeating, a feeling that will not settle, a goal that keeps slipping. You give it a number from 0 to 10 before you begin, and rate it again after, so you see exactly what moved.

What if it does not work for me?

Try it. One session is £37 before you commit to anything bigger. You take a number before and after, so you see what moved.

Where to go next

Come and feel it.

You cannot really be told what a shift feels like. You have to feel it.

One moment, one session, and the number after.

Awareness and Identify come first, so you arrive with your subject and its number. Then the introductory recorded session.
